The closer’s day — from booked call to filed form

What to do before, during and after a sales call, and the order to do it in.

Your day is a list of calls. This is what surrounds each one.

The morning

  1. Open the Sales Dashboard. Check Post-call forms owed first — anything sitting there is yesterday's work not finished, and it is holding up the revenue numbers, the commission and the follow-up chase.
  2. Look at today's calls. They are on your calendar and in #3-e-booked-calls.
  3. Read the briefs. For any call that came through a dialer, the Dials tab has the dial log — the outcome, the sentiment, what they were confirmed for, and the pre-call brief the dialer's notes produced. This is the single highest-value five minutes in your day and most closers skip it.

Before each call

  • Read the lead in Close. Their application answers are on the lead. Asking a question they already answered on the form is the fastest way to lose a call in the first ten seconds.
  • Check the timeline. Everything marked 🤖 is history someone else already recorded: what they applied with, whether they registered for a webinar, whether they attended, how long they watched, whether a dialer already spoke to them.
  • Check the money. If they have paid a deposit before, it is on the timeline and on the deal. Walking into a call not knowing they already gave us $1,000 is unrecoverable.

On the call

  • Record it. The recording is what the AI pre-fill on your post-call form reads. No recording means no pre-fill, and it also means nobody can ever help you with a call that went wrong.
  • Run your call. This handbook does not tell you how to sell — Nate does.

Straight after the call — the part that is not optional

File the post-call form. Every call. Before the next one if you can.

That form is the only thing that creates a close, moves the deal, fires the outcome card in Slack, updates the pipeline and pays your commission. A call with no form is, as far as this business is concerned, a call that did not happen — and you will be DM'd about it hourly until it is filed.

Full detail: The post-call form.

No-shows, cancellations and reschedules get a form too. They are outcomes on the same form. "Nothing happened" is a result, and leaving it unfiled looks identical to you forgetting.

Follow-ups

If the outcome was anything other than done-and-dusted, the form asks for Follow-Up At and a Follow-Up Reason. On a Deposit those are required, and rightly so — a deposit with no date on it is money we have decided not to collect.

What you put there is what the Reminders automation reads. It is not a note to yourself; it is an instruction to the system.

End of day

Closers are not currently chased for an end-of-day report. The post-call forms are the non-negotiable ones. When EOD does turn on for closers, the SOP is already written: End of day — closers.
